The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 23.87 points, or 0.08%, to 28,645.26, the SP 500 gained 0.11 points to 3,240.02 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 15.77 points, or 0.17%, to 9,006.62.
MSCI#39;s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan jumped 0.55% to 555.25, a level not seen since mid-2018. It is up about 16% so far this year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 105.94 points, or 0.37%, to 28,621.39, the SP 500 gained 16.53 points, or 0.51%, to 3,239.91 and the Nasdaq Composite added 69.51 points, or 0.78%, to 9,022.39.
MSCIâs broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was down 0.01%. Australian shares were unchanged, while Japanâs Nikkei stock index edged 0.02% lower.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 96.44 points, or 0.34%, to 28,551.53, the SP 500 gained 2.79 points, or 0.09%, to 3,224.01 and the Nasdaq Composite added 20.69 points, or 0.23%, to 8,945.65.
Japan#39;s Nikkei climbed 0.1% after reaching a 14-month top last week. It was ahead by 2.3% for the month so far. South Korea#39;s market was a shade weaker after adding 5.5% so far in December.
MSCI#39;s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was a fraction firmer in early trade, having gained 1.2% for the week so far and almost 5% for the month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 131.66 points, or 0.47%, to 28,370.94, the SP 500 gained 13.92 points, or 0.44%, to 3,205.06 and the Nasdaq Composite added 53.17 points, or 0.6%, to 8,880.91.
MSCI#39;s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.08%. Australian shares were up 0.07%, while Japan#39;s Nikkei stock index slid 0.12%.
