E-Mini futures for the SP 500 rose 0.9%. Treasury futures slid 11 ticks and yields on 10-year notes rose 4 basis points to 2.04%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 73.38 points, or 0.28%, to 26,599.96, the SP 500 gained 16.84 points, or 0.58%, to 2,941.76 and the Nasdaq Composite added 38.49 points, or 0.48%, to 8,006.24.
In early trade, MSCI#39;s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.02%, following on from modest gains in global equity markets overnight. U.S. stock futures, the SP 500 e-minis, were up 0.2%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 10.24 points, or 0.04%, to 26,526.58, the SP 500 gained 11.14 points, or 0.38%, to 2,924.92 and the Nasdaq Composite added 57.79 points, or 0.73%, to close at 7,967.76.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 11.4 points, or 0.04%, to 26,536.82, the SP 500 lost 3.6 points, or 0.12%, to 2,913.78 and the Nasdaq Composite added 25.25 points, or 0.32%, to 7,909.97.
Japan#39;s Nikkei added 0.3%, helped by a pullback in the yen, while Australian stocks eased 0.4%. E-Mini futures for the SP 500 were 0.03% firmer
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 179.32 points, or 0.67%, to 26,548.22, the SP 500 lost 27.97 points, or 0.95%, to 2,917.38 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 120.98 points, or 1.51%, to 7,884.72.
MSCI#39;s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was a shade lower.
