Madhuri Dixit's Husband And Paytm CEO Share A Special "Vada Pav Moment" In Mumbai

Vada pav is one of the most beloved Maharashtrian snacks, a wholesome and spicy desi-style burger that's an absolute treat for the taste buds. It's worth noting that Michelin Star chefs have rated vada pav as one of the world's best burgers. Recently, Dr. Shriram Nene, the husband of Madhuri Dixit, was spotted relishing this popular snack with Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma in Mumbai. Dr. Nene took to Twitter to share a picture of his "vada pav moment" at Swati Snacks, where he enjoyed the dish with tall glasses of juice and a cup of chai. He tweeted, "Our vada pav moment at #swatisnack. The company made the experience unforgettable." Vijay Shekhar Sharma quote-tweeted his post, saying, "I call it the 'poor man's' vada-pao moment." Take a look:

The photo has quickly grabbed the attention of foodies everywhere. In reference to Madhuri Dixit's previous vada pav binge session with Tim Cook at the same cafe, one user wrote, "The Nene-Dixit duo should be appointed Global Vada Pav ambassadors, which would give a big boost to domestic and international tourism.

"One user was curious about the beverages being served, asking, 'Are those glasses filled with sugar cane juice or lassi?"

"A user put a spin on the popular saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and wrote, ''Is it the doctor's way to recommend one vada pav a day?''

Earlier this year, Madhuri Dixit took Apple CEO Tim Cook to a special vada pav treat in Mumbai. Cook was in India to launch the company's first-ever retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. In the picture, Dixit and Cook are sharing a candid moment as they enjoy vada pav, with a plate of green and tamarind dips visible in the background. Sharing the photo on Twitter, the actress wrote, ''Can't think of a better welcome to Mumbai than Vada Pav!'' Cook replied with a note of appreciation, writing, ''Thanks, @madhuridixit, for introducing me to my very first Vada Pav — it was delicious!''

Viral Picture Of Padlock On Grave Not From Pak: A Fact Check

A fact-check has indicated that an agency report about parents putting padlocks on graves of their daughters in Pakistan to save them from a rising spate of necrophilia was incorrect. Many news sites, including NDTV, ran the report of news agency ANI that has been fact-checked by AltNews. NDTV had sent a mail to ANI late this evening. A response is awaited.

The report of ANI was based on Daily Times article, and a viral tweet by Harris Sultan, an ex-Muslim atheist activist and the author of the book "The Curse of God, why I left Islam".

In the tweet, he had shared photos of a padlocked grave and accused Pakistan of creating a "sexually frustrated society", where "people are now putting padlocks on the graves of their daughters to prevent them from getting raped".

AltNews fact checker Mohammed Zubair tweeted that the photograph in question, showing a green painted  grille, was from Hyderabad. The reason grilles are used is to stop people from burying bodies over the old graves without permission, he tweeted quoting locals.

The grave was that of an old woman, whose son had installed the grille. It was also meant to stop people from stepping on the grave since it was near a doorway, he tweeted.

After the fact-check by AltNews, Harris Sultan said he was deleting his earlier tweet.

The ANI report mentioned that women's bodies were said to have been unearthed and desecrated on several occasions. A necrophilia case was reported in Pakistan in 2011 when a grave keeper named Muhammad Rizwan from North Nazimabad, Karachi was arrested after he confessed to raping 48 female corpses.

UK's Rishi Sunak To Recite Bible Verse At King Charles' Coronation

Rishi Sunak will read from the biblical book of Colossians at the Coronation of King Charles III in keeping with the recent tradition of British Prime Ministers giving readings at State occasions, the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury revealed as part of the official Liturgy for the religious ceremony at Westminster Abbey here on May 6.

Rishi Sunak, Britain's first Prime Minister of Indian heritage and a practicing Hindu, reading from a biblical book will resonate with the multi-faith theme being struck for the Christian ceremony.

Lambeth Palace, the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury - Reverend Justin Welby, said that members of other faith traditions will play an active role in the service for the first time.

"The Archbishop of Canterbury has selected a new Epistle for this Coronation, which will be Colossians 1:9-17. This passage has been chosen to reflect the theme of service to others, and the loving rule of Christ over all people and all things, which runs through this Coronation Liturgy," Lambeth Palace said.

"Following recent tradition of British Prime Ministers giving readings at State occasions - as Head of the host Nation's government - this will be read by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak," it said.

By longstanding tradition, the Archbishop of Canterbury authorises a new Liturgy - or the form according to which a public religious worship takes place - for every Coronation. The three oaths the King at the heart of the service remain unchanged, including the promise to maintain "the Protestant Reformed Religion".

The overall theme of the Liturgy is "Called to Serve", which is intended to reflect the commitment that the King will make to serve God and the people of the United Kingdom.

"I am delighted that the service will recognise and celebrate tradition, speaking to the great history of our nation, our customs, and those who came before us. At the same time, the service contains new elements that reflect the diversity of our contemporary society," said Welby.

His office said the service has been designed to reflect the changes in the UK since Charles' mother Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953, the character of Britain as it is today, and the Church of England's role in contemporary society. As one of the newer elements, the 74-year-old monarch will pray aloud in the Abbey using words specially written for the occasion that reflect the "duty and privilege of the Sovereign to serve all communities".

Lambeth Palace confirmed that the Presentation of the Regalia will be made by Members of the House of Lords and for the first time, some of the items which have no Christian meaning or symbolism will be presented by peers who belong to different faith traditions: Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism.

Buckingham Palace had previously confirmed that Lord Narendra Babubhai Patel, 84, will represent the Hindu faith and hand over the Sovereign's Ring to Charles. While Lord Indrajit Singh, 90, will represent the Sikh faith and present the Coronation Glove, Lord Syed Kamall, 56, of Indo-Guyanese heritage, will represent the Muslim faith and present the Armills or a pair of bracelets.

"At the end of the procession at the close of the service, before His Majesty proceeds to the Gold State Coach, the King will receive and acknowledge a spoken greeting delivered in unison by Representatives from Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Buddhist communities," Lambeth Palace said.

The thousands congregated at the Abbey and millions expected to be watching on screens as the ceremony is telecast live will be invited to say the words: "I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law - so help me God".

The five elements of the historic "English Coronation Rite" will take place in their traditional order: The Recognition; The Oath; The Anointing; The Investiture and Crowning; and The Enthronement and Homage.

These elements will take place within the traditional structure of a service of Holy Communion, including prayers and Bible readings, and King Charles and Queen Camilla will receive Holy Communion during the service.

"India Tries To Ensure Ties Across The World, Except With...": S Jaishankar

Foreign minister S Jaishankar has said each of India's engagements has its own particular weight and focus, be it with United States, Europe, Russia or Japan, India is trying to ensure that all ties advance without seeking exclusivity. China, however, falls into a different category, Mr Jaishankar said in his address at the MIREX, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, where he was on a visit from April 27 to 29.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Mr Jaishankar said: "For the first time in 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated a comprehensive view that spanned the entirety of the Indian Ocean and its Islands. These subsequently became the building blocks for the Indo-Pacific vision that emerged thereafter. To the north, India has been similarly pursuing a strategy of connecting to Central Asia more effectively and this has taken the form of structured engagements across multiple domains".

"These concentric circles of priority give you a conceptual sense of Indian diplomacy and one that we have pursued very assiduously over the last decade. But at a higher level, we are also practising the approach of engaging all significant centres of power, such multi-alignment reflects the reality of multi-polarity," he added.

Mr Jaishankar said each engagement has its own particular weight and focus.

"Whether it is the United States, Europe, Russia or Japan, we are trying to ensure that all ties, all these ties advance without seeking exclusivity," Jaishankar said without mentioning China.

But further, Mr Jaishankar added, "China falls into a somewhat different category because of the boundary dispute and the currently abnormal nature of our ties".

Making India's stand clear about China's activities at the Line of Actual Control, Mr Jaishankar said that is "an outcome of a violation of agreements regarding border management by them".

"The rise of China and India in a parallel time frame is also not without its competitive aspects," he added.

The minister said India's most pressing priorities are obviously in its neighbourhood. Given India's size and economic strength, it is very much for the collective benefit that India takes a generous and non-reciprocal approach to cooperation with smaller neighbours.

"And that's exactly what we have done in the last decade under Prime Minister Modi and this in our region has come to be known as the Neighborhood First Policy," Mr Jaishankar said.

India has seen a dramatic expansion in connectivity, contacts, in cooperation across the region.

"The exception to this of course is Pakistan in view of the cross-border terrorism that it supports. But whether it is the Covid challenge or more recent debt pressures, India has always stepped up for its neighbours," Mr Jaishankar said.

India has extended more than USD 4 billion of notable economic support to Sri Lanka.

"Beyond South Asia, India is developing the concept of extended neighbourhoods, extended neighbourhoods in all directions, with the ASEAN this has taken the form of what we call the Act East Policy, which has opened up a pathway to a deeper engagement with the Indo-Pacific that is being pursued amongst others, through a mechanism called the Quad," Mr Jaishankar said on the expansion of India's ties.

He also said towards the West, there has been a perceptible "intensification" of India's relationship with the Gulf and the Middle East. One reflection of that is a new grouping called I2U2, comprising India, Israel, UAE and the USA. These two regions on either side have emerged as major trade and investment hubs for India, he added.

About 8 million Indians live and work in the Gulf but the relationship is much more than economic, it encompasses security, technology and strong people-to-people ties. To the South, the outlook that shapes India's thinking goes by the acronym of SAGAR, which is an Indian word for oceans.

Videos Show Destruction Caused By Powerful Tornado In Florida

A powerful tornado flipped cars, uprooted trees and destroyed buildings as severe weather ripped through Florida, US, on Saturday. Several horrifying videos shared on social media captured the devastation caused by the strong twister.

One viral video showed cars stacked onto one another in an open parking lot and damaged buildings, including one with its facade ripped off and another with a falling gutter.

Another clip captured the moment a small vehicle was dramatically tossed into the air after the wind caught it, rolling it several times to the surprise of others on the highway. The video, shot from within another car, even showed debris swirling around in the street as cars are pushed by the powerful gusts.

Other footage showed the aftermath of the tornado passing through communities. "Florida | Another video of tornado damage in Palm Beach area," the caption of the Twitter post read.

According to the New York Post, the National Weather Service confirmed the tornado touched down in the city. In a tweet, the agency said, "We are currently in the process of surveying damage along the path of the tornado and will release more information once our survey is completed."

In follow-up tweets, the weather page said a Tornado Watch would be in place for Sunday for much of Florida. "Another active weather day is expected in SFL with strong winds, hail, and even a few tornadoes possible. Main timing for activity would be sunrise-mid morning for NW areas, and late morning-early afternoon for the east coast," the weather service said.

Around 12 million people across the state have been placed under a level 2 risk for severe weather.

As per the outlet, the thunderstorms were travelling across the Gulf of Mexico from Texas, which was hit with hail and powerful winds on Thursday. Officials said that the peninsula could also be in for damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail and heavy rainfall through Saturday night.

Watch: Babar Azam's Reaction After Successful Review Sparks Meme Fest

Daryl Mitchell hit a second successive century while Tom Latham missed a ton by two runs as New Zealand piled up 336-5 in the second one-day international against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on Saturday. The stylish one-drop batter improved on his 113 in the first ODI on Thursday with 129 for 119 balls, and was ably supported by Latham (98) and Chad Bowes (51) after New Zealand were sent in to bat by Pakistan. Mitchell smashed three sixes and eight boundaries and consolidated the innings through a third-wicket stand of 183 with skipper Latham, as the pair took full advantage of a flat pitch.

Mitchell was finally caught brilliantly by Mohammad Nawaz off pacer Naseem Shah in the 46th over, while Latham was caught behind off Haris Rauf an over later.

It was Naseem who gave Mitchell an extra life four short of his hundred when he dropped a simple catch off spinner Usama Mir at mid-on.

That allowed Mitchell to complete his hundred off 102 balls -- his third in his ODI career.

Latham knocked eight boundaries and a six off 85 balls.

Bowes and Will Young gave New Zealand a 33-run start before pacer Rauf had Young caught behind for 19 in the sixth over.

Bowes, who hit seven boundaries in his maiden ODI half century, steadied the innings with Mitchell as the pair added 86 for the second wicket.

It was Rauf again who broke the stand when he trapped Bowes leg before wicket in the 19th over.

Rauf was the pick of bowlers with 4-78.

Pakistan lead the five-match series 1-0 after winning the first match by five wickets, also in Rawalpindi.

"It All Went South": Jack Dorsey Criticises Musk Over Twitter Leadership

Almost a year after stating that Elon Musk is the "singular solution" he trusts to run Twitter, Jack Dorsey seems to have changed his stance on Mr Musk's leadership of the microblogging website. On Friday, the former CEO of Twitter issued his sharpest criticism yet of Mr Musk's leadership of Twitter, saying that the tech billionaire has not proved to be the platform's ideal steward and should have walked away from buying the site.

Mr Dorsey criticised Mr Musk in a series of reply posts on the social network Bluesky, a potential Twitter rival that Mr Dorsey helped to start. According to The Washinton Post, he responded to a question from a Bluesky user regarding whether he felt that Mr Musk proved the "best possible steward".

"No. Nor do I think he acted right after realizing his timing was bad. Nor do I think the board should have forced the sale. It all went south. But it happened and all we can do now is build something to avoid that ever happening again. So I'm happy Jay and team and nostr devs exist and building it," Mr Dorsey said.

According to Fortune, in another post, Mr Dorsey also stated that Mr Musk should have walked away by paying 1 billion dollars to the board. "If Elon or anyone wanted to buy the company, all they had to do was name a price that the board felt was better than what the company could do independently. This is true for every public company. Was I optimistic? Yes. Did I have final say? No. I think he should have walked away and paid the $1b," he stated.

Further, responding to a post in which a user said, "It's pretty sad how it all went down," Mr Dorsey replied simply: "Yes".

Notably, it was not long ago when Mr Dorsey had said that if Twitter had to be a company at all, "Elon is the singular solution I trust".

"In principle, I don't believe anyone should own or run Twitter. It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company. Solving for the problem of it being a company however, Elon is the singular solution I trust. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness," he tweeted in 2022 before Mr Musk's Twitter acquisition had come to fruition.

"Provocative" Statue Of A Curvy Mermaid Sparks Outrage In Southern Italy

A curvy statue of a mermaid has caused a stir in the southern Italian town of Monopoli for being "too provocative". According to The Guardian, the artwork sits in a new square in the Puglia town called Piazza Rita Levi-Montalcini - named after a Nobel prize-winning Italian scientist. It was created by students from the Luigi Rosso art school in Monopoli and is located near a children's playground.

The artwork has become a target of ridicule after photos taken during its installation were shared on social media. Taking to Facebook, Bari-based actor Tiziana Schiavarelli said that a friend in Monopoli had "rightly expressed some perplexity about this 'monument'. It looks like a mermaid with two silicone breasts and, above all, a huge arse never seen before on a mermaid. At least not any I know".

Ms Schiavarelli further stressed that she did not have an issue with the art students or the local council, which had commissioned the work. "But I am very amused by this thing ...who knows if it will become a further attraction for tourists," she added.

Meanwhile, Adolf Marciano, headteacher of the Luigi Rosso art school, stated that the statue was a "tribute to the great majority of women who are curvy". As per Sky News, Mr Marciano also said that the council was shown the scale model, following which it was decided that the completed sculpture would be placed in the square.

He added that he did not want to cast judgement on the students' inspiration, but that he viewed the work "as a representation of reality, in this case of the female body".

"You see adverts on television with models who are very thin, but the mermaid is like a tribute to the great majority of women who are curvy, especially in our country. It would have been very bad if we had represented a woman who was extremely skinny," Mr Marciano said.

Notably, the statue is yet to be officially unveiled.

Bravo Explains Why Dhoni Doesn't Promote Himself In Batting Order

Into his 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), MS Dhoni has looked far from finished. The wicket-keeper batter has not just led Chennai Super King (CSK) brilliantly but also produced cameos with the bat that left fans feeling nostalgic. Though Dhoni's cameos have been mesmerising, many fans and experts wonder what would it take for the 'Thala' to promote himself in the batting order for CSK this season. Dwayne Bravo, who has played with Dhoni in the Super Kings team for years, shed light on the matter, explaining why the skipper won't promote himself.

"That is the position he has to bat. Everyone is batting higher than him and he takes that responsibility and ownership upon himself to bat lower down the order because the likes of Jadeja, Rayudu, and Dube, he wants to give these guys as many opportunities as possible. He is happy to just play the finishing role," Bravo had said in a press conference.

Chennai sit top of the IPL 2023 standings with 5 wins in 7 matches. Rajasthan, on the other hand, are placed 3rd in the points table with 4 wins in 7 matches. Bravo is confident of the morale in the CSK dressing room and the team's ability to keep the momentum going.

"The CSK morale is very high, and that has nothing to do with the results. We are a team that is normally very level irrespective of whether we perform well or not.

"But it is always better when we are doing well. So far, we have started the season on a positive note and we just have to keep the momentum and keep winning cricket games. Tomorrow's game against RR is going to be a very hard game," he said.

IPL 2023: Twitter Trolls KL Rahul As Disappointing Run Continues vs PBKS

KL Rahul was not able to score big as he was dismissed for 12 off 8 deliveries during Lucknow Super Giants' encounter against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Thursday. Rahul gave a chance on the very first ball of the match but Sikandar Raza was not able to complete the catch off the bowling of debutant Gurnoor Brar. It looked like the dropped chance will come to haunt PBKS as Rahul slammed a four and a six to make his intent clear. However, his stay was cut short by Kagiso Rabada as he miscued a shot completely and this time, Shahrukh Khan made no mistake at short third-man.

This was yet another failed chance for Rahul who has been criticised for his run rate in the ongoing IPL 2023. Twitter was not kind to Rahul as the users soon started trolling him for his performance.

Punjab Kings opted to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants.

Shikhar Dhawan is back leading Punjab after missing three games due to a shoulder injury.

Sikandar Raza replaced Matthew Short in the Punjab playing eleven and Gurnoor Brar will be making his IPL debut. LSG named an unchanged team.

Punjab Kings: Atharva Taide, Shikhar Dhawan (c), Sikandar Raza, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jitesh Sharma (w), Shahrukh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Gurnoor Brar, Arshdeep Singh.

Lucknow Super Giants: KL Rahul(c), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Nicholas Pooran(w), Ayush Badoni, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Yash Thakur.

Couple Living Apart For 25 Years Seek Divorce. What Supreme Court Said

The Supreme Court has dissolved the marriage of a couple who have been staying separately for 25 years, saying recognising them as married would be "sanctioning cruelty". The couple only lived together for four years.

A bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and JB Pardiwala said the "complete severance of all meaningful ties and existing bitterness between the two" should be read as "cruelty" under the Hindu Marriage Act.

"We have before us a married couple who have been together as a couple for hardly four years and have been living separately for the last 25 years. They don't have children and their marital bond is completely broke, beyond repair," the Supreme Court said.

"We have no doubt that this relationship must end because its continuation would be to sanction cruelty. Prolonged separation, absence of cohabitation, complete severance of all meaningful ties and existing bitterness between the two should be read as cruelty under the Hindu Marriage Act," the Supreme Court said.

It said the ending of their marriage will affect only them since they have no children.

The man makes more than Rs 1 lakh a month and he has to pay Rs 30 lakh to the woman within four weeks, the Supreme Court said.

The couple got married in Delhi in 1994. He alleged she had an abortion the same year without telling him. He alleged she did not like their house as it was small.

Four years into the marriage, the woman left and filed a case of dowry harassment against him. The man and his brother were arrested and later released on bail. He filed for divorce after that.

The trial court allowed the divorce petition on the grounds of cruelty and long separation. But the Delhi High Court rejected the divorce request, after which the man challenged the high court's decision in the Supreme Court.

Congress Compares Arvind Kejriwal With Sheila Dikshit Over 45-Crore Spend

The Congress on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party over the alleged expenditure of Rs 45 crore on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence, saying it was "shameful" and it was like the party slapping its voters in the face.

The Opposition party also addressed queries about it reaching out to the Aam Aadmi Party on one hand and attacking it on the other, saying there was "no good cop, bad cop" routine and both approaches can co-exist.

Asked about Congress leader Ajay Maken attacking Arvind Kejriwal on one hand and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge reaching out to the party as part of Opposition unity efforts, party's media department head Pawan Khera said Mr Maken has said the right thing.

Hitting out at the AAP, Mr Khera said, "You call yourself an 'aam aadmi (common man)', it is a different matter that nobody considers you an 'aam aadmi' now. During Covid when people were suffering and there was shortage of oxygen then what were you doing --expenditure of Rs 45 crore on renovating your house, building a swimming pool, draping curtains worth lakhs and crores, fitting tiles, is this Aam Aadmi's government?"

"These are astonishing facts. Some of you would be surprised but not us as we knew what the reality is. But we are still astonished that what kind Aam Aadmi government is this that used to trumpet about its honesty and simplicity," the Congress spokesperson said.

Mr Khera said Mr Maken has pointed to the affidavit that Mr Kejriwal had given, stressing that he will not stay in official residence, not take security and not use a red beacon car.

"Are you looking at his security now, can even an MLA enter the Chief Minister's house? Close to this place was Sheila Dikshit's house when she was Chief Minister and in the mornings, the common man could go and meet her without an appointment, MLAs, workers could walk in anytime," Mr Khera said.

"You can look at the budget of renovation of houses of Sheila Dikshit and her ministers during the 15-year rule and compare it with Rs 45 crore being spent on the house of a chief minister. This is shameful. It is sad that in a way, they are slapping their voters in the face. It is nothing less than that," he said.

Asked about Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge reaching out to the Aam Aadmi Party on one hand and the party attacking it on the other, Mr Khera said, "Kharge ji called the AAP which is a very good tradition and a good way to strengthen ties as we need to have good ties among each other for the fight we are fighting. But this does not mean that is such a mistake comes to the fore, no one comments on it."

"There is no good cop bad cop, both can coexist," he added.

In the wake of reports of spending Rs 45 crore for the "beautification" of the Delhi chief minister's official residence here, Mr Maken has raised questions on Arvind Kejriwal's right to remain in his position.

Ajay Maken alleged that Mr Kejriwal spent Rs 45 crore of public funds on his luxurious bungalow, including on extravagant items like Dior polish, Vietnam marble, expensive curtains, and high-end carpets.

Mr Maken had said Mr Kejriwal promised not to use a car with a red beacon or request additional security beyond what is necessary for a common citizen and refuse a large bungalow and instead live in an ordinary house like a common man.

It so happened that when Vijay Varma posted the teaser of his upcoming thriller series Dahaad, on his Instagram wall, his co-star and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela star Gulshan Devaiah left a hilarious comment, hinting at his close bond with Tamannaah Bhatia. Uploading the video, the gully boy star wrote, “Here's a sneak peek into Dahaad! Dahaad on Prime Video. The trailer is out on May 3.” Under the post, with the intention of teasing Vijay, Gulshan Devaiah wrote, "“Meri Tammannah toh tu tha… achcha dhokha diya hai tune mujhe. Thank God meri izzat nai luti… nai toh... hey Ram (You were my hope, you betrayed me. Thank God my reputation is still intact)”.

Take a look at the post here:

Notably, this comes a few days after the couple was spotted in the city after they stepped out on a dinner date. The stars waved at the cameras as they were pictured together in a car last night in Mumbai. Tamannaah And Vijay Varma's dating rumours began last year after they attended Diljit Dosanjh's Mumbai concert together in December and shared pictures from it.

Check out the pictures from the night here:

They trended a great deal after Vijay Varma photobombed Tamannaah during an award show in January this year.

Tamannaah is best known for her performances in films like Baahubali, Devi and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, to name a few. In terms of work, Tamannaah will next be seen Bole Chudiyan, co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Whereas, Vijay Varma is best known for starring in films such as Darlings, Gully Boy, Pink, Ghost Stories, Super 30 and Baaghi 3.

Coming back to Dahaad, is a crime thriller that showcases the story of a fearless cop named Anjali Bhaati played by Sonakshi Sinha. Other than Vijay Varma, the show also features Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles. The series, produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films, has been directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi.

Ex Wrestler's Big Charge Against Panel Member Probing #MeToo Allegations

Former wrestler Babita Phogat on Tuesday claimed that fellow oversight committee member Radhica Sreeman snatched the final report on sexual harassment allegations against WFI chief Bri Bhushan Sharan Singh from her before she could read the findings in full, a charge vehemently denied by the former sports administrator.

Babita, who was included in the government's probe panel to investigate the allegations on the insistence of protesting wrestlers, alleged that she had some objections but Radhica did not let her read the report in full.

"I had read just a few pages of the final report and I had some objections but Radhica Sreeman came and snatched the report. She said since I belong to the same family (Phogat), that is holding the protest, I can't read the report," Babita told PTI.

"She was working on behalf of the chairman (Mary Kom) and told me that the chairman has taken a decision (on signing of the report)." When contacted by PTI, Radhica dismissed the charge as "ridiculous".

"Why will I do that? What benefit I will accrue by doing something like that. In fact she read the report 4-5 times and agreed to the findings. Each and every word that was written in the report, was explained to her," Radhica said.

"Whatever was written in the report is based on testimonies of all those who appeared in the hearing and everything is video recorded, it can't be tampered with. If at all I snatched the report from her why didn't she write that in her dissent note," questioned the veteran administrator.

"This is a baseless charge. In fact on the eve of Holi, all the members sat and whatever was being drafted, based on the hearings, Babita was explained each and every word and she was satisfied." Radhica also said that all members of the committee were requested to assemble at SAI headquarters on April 4 for the signing of the report, but Babita did not turn up.

"Even her phone was switched off that day. She said her baby was unwell so we asked her to come on April 5 and sign the report. Since everyone else had arrived on April 4, the chairman (Mary Kom) decided that members who are present can sign the report and Babita can do that later," explained Radhica.

The government had formed the oversight committee, headed by legendary boxer MC Mary Kom, to look into the allegations levelled by the wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia.

Others in the six-member panel included former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, former shuttler Trupti Murgunde, Radhica and Rajesh Rajagopalan, ex-CEO, Target Olympic Podium Scheme.

The panel submitted its report on April 5 but the government has not yet made public its findings.

However, PTI has learnt that the probe panel has given Brij Bhushan a clean chit with a 5-1 verdict.

As the wrestlers returned to Jantar Mantar to resume their protest and approach the Supreme Court, Vinesh said Babita is more worried about her political career than the cause of the wrestlers.

When asked why she has not visited the protest site, like she did the last time in January, Babita said, "I was with the wrestlers and will remain with them. I am under no political pressure."

Rahane "Wouldn't Have Got A Place...": Ex India Star On His WTC Final Call

Ajinkya Rahane's return to the Indian Test squad was the biggest news to have come out of India's World Test Championship final squad announcement on Tuesday. India will play its second WTC final against Australia at The Oval, London, from June 7 to 11. Rahane's comeback after 15 months was on predictable lines following Shreyas Iyer's back injury that ruled him out of the grand finale. Iyer recently underwent a surgery in the UK to treat stress fractures in his lower back. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan also reckoned that Rahane's past performances in overseas conditions will bode him well.

Speaking on Star Sports' Cricket Live, Irfan Pathan said: "Had Shreyas Iyer been fit then Rahane would not have got the place in the WTC Final side. But as far as the current form is concerned, he is looking in great touch. The format in which he is playing now is completely different but Rahane's performance on foreign pitches has always been good and this has gone in his favour."

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh, however, opined that Suryakumar Yadav should have also been kept in the squad along with Rahane because SKY can accelerate his knock.

"I would have kept both Surya and Rahane in the team. I would have played Surya instead of Axar because you are not going to play with three spinners in English conditions. In such a situation, having Surya in the team would have given an additional advantage to the batting line-up," he said.

India's Test squad WTC final: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, K L Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.

Watch: Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Play Badminton. Internet Impressed

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are one star couple who are always in the spotlight. While Kohli is a superstar cricketer, Anushka is an acclaimed actor. Kohli has often said how Anushka has been a pillar of strength for him.  He recently opened up on his struggles and how his wife and actor Anushka Sharma helped him. "When you go back from a space like this. It's easy immediately to go like 'ah, everything is so good and it's okay'. That's why I say Anushka's name first because she has seen the challenges of being in this position. She knows it. She has been there for so many years. She knows what it takes to handle public pressure. So, her conversations with me has always been priceless. She tells me the truth, simple," Virat Kohli said in a conversation with ex-CSK star Robin Uthappa on Jio Cinema. Anushka can often be spotted supporting Kohli from the stands. She has been present in several recent IPL matches too.

Now, the two celebrities were spotted playing badminton in a promotional event for PUMA.

The star couple got married in 2017 and are now proud parents to a daughter. The duo can often be seen together in events and TV ads. Their first meeting was at the shoot for a TV commercial too. However, the confident man that he is on the cricket field, Virat Kohli has now revealed that he was 'shivering' with nervousness before meeting Anushka for the first time in 2013. He even said that in his nervousness he also made some awkward statement.

"I remember it was 2013. I had just been named the captain for the Zimbabwe Tour, I was excited. Then my manager called up about a TV commercial. He told me that I was shooting with Anushka Sharma. She was a well-established, one of the top actors. As soon as I heard that, I was shivering. I was so nervous. I was so, so tensed before walking on the set (of the ad shoot in 2013). I was thinking 'how am I going to say hi to her? What am I going to say?'. I was so completely out of it. I went there 5 minutes before her. I did not realise how tall she was. Out of my nervousness...First thing I told her, she was wearing a decent-high heels. The first tithing I told her when I saw her heel was 'Didn't you get anything higher to wear?'," Kohli said on a chat show with AB de Villiers on Three Sixty YouTube channel.

RCB Stand-in Captain Kohli, Team Fined Heavily For Code of Conduct Breach

Virat Kohli, stand-in captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, along with other members of his team have been fined a hefty sum after his team's slow over-rate against Rajasthan Royals in an IPL 2023 on Sunday. Kohli was fined Rs 24 lakh as he was the skipper of the side in the game. "Royal Challengers Bangalore, who had named Mr. Virat Kohli as their Captain for their game against Rajasthan Royals, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 23, 2023," a statement from IPL read.

"As it was his team's second offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs. 24 lakh and each member of the Playing XI, including the impact substitute, was fined Rs. 6 lakh or 25 percent of the match fee, whichever is lesser."

Fiery half-centuries from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, followed by a three-wicket haul from Harshal Patel guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to a victory by seven runs against Rajasthan Royals, in their IPL 2023 match on Sunday.

Chasing 190, RR were on course after the early dismissal of Jos Buttler, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (47) and Devdutt Padikkal (52) stitching 98 runs for the second wicket before both departed in quick succession to be restricted to 182 for six. Harshal Patel (3/32) was the pick of the bowlers for RCB. Earlier, Maxwell hammered 77 off 44 balls while Faf contributed 62 off 39 balls for RCB. Stand-in skipper Virat Kohli (0) was adjudged leg-before to Trent Boult in first over but Du Plessis and Maxwell added 127 for the third wicket stand before RCB lost a bit of momentum towards the end.

Updated IPL Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap List Post RCB-RR, KKR-CSK Games

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings registered wins over Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively, on a blockbuster Sunday in IPL 2023. While RCB regained the fifth spot in the table, following Punjab Kings' win over Mumbai Indians on Saturday, CSK moved to the top of the pile, following RR's defeat in Bengaluru earlier on Sunday. Glenn Maxwell hammered 77 off 44 balls while Faf du Plessis contributed 62 off 39 balls to guide RCB to a par score of 189 for nine after being sent in to bat.

Chasing, RR were on course after the early dismissal of Jos Buttler, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (47) and Devdutt Padikkal (52) stitching 98 runs for the second wicket before both departed in quick succession to be restricted to 182 for six.

CSK, on the other hand, defeated KKR by 49 runs to register their fifth win of the season. Devon Conway, Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane slammed quick half-centuries to guide CSK to an imposing 235 for four after being asked to bat.

Dube (50 off 21) and Rahane (71 not out off 29) kept up the scoring rate, stitching 85 runs off just 32 balls to keep CSK's scoring rate high.

Chasing, KKR could manage 186 for eight in their 20 overs. Jason Roy made a quickfire 26-ball 61, while Rinku Singh scored an unbeaten 33-ball 53 but it was not enough to chase down the mammoth target.

Orange Cap, Purple Cap

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis is at the top of the highest run-scorer's list with a tally of 405 in seven games. In the wicket-taker's list, Siraj equalled Arshdeep Singh's tally of 13 wickets. He, however, tops the list courtesty of a better bowling average that Arshdeep.

Row Over Pregnancy Tests On Brides Ahead Of Madhya Pradesh Mass Wedding

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's mass wedding scheme for women from economically weaker sections has landed in controversy after some of the brides were made to take pregnancy tests. Five of the 219 girls did not get married on Saturday after their tests came positive. The matter has generated a huge political controversy as pregnancy tests are not supposed to be conducted on the women. The Congress has questioned who ordered the tests.

The mass wedding under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana was conducted in Gadsarai area of Dindori.

One of the women whose pregnancy test had come positive, said she had started living with her fiance before the wedding. "My pregnancy test came positive. Possibly due to this my name was dropped from the final list, although officials have given me no clear cut reason," she added.

"Never in the past has such tests been conducted," said Medani Marawi, the sarpanch of Bachchargaon village. "It is an insult to the girls, who now stand maligned before their families," he added.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer of Dindori, Dr Ramesh Marawi, said normally, tests are conducted for age verification, sickle cell anaemia and to ascertain physical fitness.

"Pregnancy tests were conducted at the behest of higher authorities on some girls whose cases were suspected," he said. "We only conduct tests and report the findings. The decision on excluding the girls from the mass marriage scheme is taken by the Social Justice Department based on health department reports," he added.

The Congress has alleged that the local administration and state government had insulted the women by conducting pregnancy tests.

A rough translation of a Hindi tweet by former Chief Minister Kamal Nath read: "I want to know from the Chief Minister whether this news is true? If this news is true, then on whose orders was this gross insult done to the daughters of Madhya Pradesh? Do the daughters of the poor and tribal communities have no dignity in the eyes of the Chief Minister? In the Shivraj government, Madhya Pradesh is already on top in the country in terms of misbehavior with women. I demand from the Chief Minister that a fair and high-level inquiry be conducted into the entire matter and the guilty should be punished severely. This is not only a matter of pregnancy test, but also of a malicious attitude towards the entire female race."

The Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana was launched in April 2006. Under the scheme, the state government provides Rs 56,000 as financial assistance for marriage of women from economically weaker sections.

Watch: Kohli Blows Kiss To Anushka During RCB Match. Her Reaction Is Viral

It was a happy outing for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter on Sunday. The match went down to the wire but good fielding performances and disciplined bowling from Harshal Patel was enough to clinch the match. Virat Kohli was not able to contribute with his bat but his romantic gesture for wife Anushka Sharma during the match won several hearts. In the 14th over of the innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed Harshal straight down the ground but it ended up being an easy catch for Kohli.

The star batter completed the catch and instantly turned back to blow a flying kiss towards Anushka in the stands. Anushka was thrilled by the gesture and her reactions were also captured on camera.

A late charge led by a cameo from Dhruv Jurel was not enough for Rajasthan Royals as a century stand between captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell set up a thrilling seven-run win for Royal Challengers Bangalore in their Indian Premier League match here on Sunday.

Invited to bat, Maxwell (77 off 44 balls) and du Plessis (62 off 39 balls) shared 127 runs for the third wicket from only 66 deliveries to power RCB to 189 for 9 in 20 overs.

Devdutt Padikkal (52 off 34 balls) struck his maiden fifty of the season and Yashasvi Jaiswal made 47 for a 98-run partnership for the second wicket but the Royals were lagging behind in the run chase before gaining momentum in the last five overs.

Jurel played a small cameo of 34 not out off just 16 balls (2x4; 2x6) as the Royals scored 61 runs off the last five overs, losing three wickets in the process. But they fell short by seven runs in the end, reaching to 182 for 6 in 20 overs.

The Royals needed 20 runs off the final over bowled by Harshal Patel but could score only 12.

The Royals thus suffered their third defeat in seven matches but remained at the top of the points table due to a superior net run rate (0.844).

Harshal Patel (4-0-32-3) was the pick of the RCB bowlers while David Willey (4-0-26-1) and Mohammed Siraj (4-0-39-1) also played their parts.

Watch: Fiery Arshdeep's Stump-Breaking Spree vs Rohit's MI Wows All

Arshdeep Singh was on fire against the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians for Punjab Kings in an IPL 2023 game on Saturday. In a high-scoring thriller that went on till the last over, Arshdeep picked four wickets to help his team win by 13 runs. Batting first, PBKS notched a huge total of 214/8, but MI were in  the fight till the end. At home at the Wankhede Stadium, MI needed 16 off the last over by Arshdeep with big-hitters Tim David and Tilak Varma at the crease. However, what Arshdeep came up with was nothing short of magical. On the third ball, he broke the middle stump in two pieces with Varma on strike. It was not a fluke, as on the next ball, he broke the middle stump once again with Nehal Wadhera on strike!

Watch: Arshdeep On Wicket-Breaking Spree vs Rohit's MI! Wows All

Talking about the game, after Sam Curran's 29-ball 55 led Punjab Kings to a massive 214 for 8, Mumbai Indians took the game into the final over due to fine counter-attack from Cameron Green (67 off 43 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (57 off 26 balls). The duo added 75 off only 36 balls.

Arshdeep struck a decisive blow in the 18th over to dismiss an on-song Suryakumar with Mumbai needing another 33 from 15 balls, and bowled an impressive final over while accounting for Tilak Varma (3) and Nehal Wadhera (0) to return with figures of 4-0-29-4 However the hosts only managed 201 for 6 as Arshdeep broke the middle-stump in back-to-back deliveries to sent NT Tilak Verma and Nehal Wadhera packing.

On a batting belter, Arshdeep again showed why even Indian team depends on him in T20 games to deliver during the end stages of the game.

Mumbai Indians would agree that Jitesh Sharma's 7-ball-25 towards the end did become the difference although 82 runs conceded by MI bowlers between overs 15-18 was another turning point.

MI did fight well after conceding 117 runs in the last seven overs, but their effort with the bat was not enough to avert a defeat in a game wherein more than 400 runs scored here at the Wankhede Stadium.

For MI, the biggest gain would be Suryakumar's return to form.
